What Sundays Are for Me
Sundays a historically a good day for me. MY work now has allowed me to age into the place where only the most serious of phone calls or emails come to me on sundays. If we work together on stuff now, you KNOW NOT TO CALL ME UNLESS ITS THE THING. We do not talk today.
I get up slower. I clean the kitchen because it gets out of hand. While I am doing that I make some green tea. I like the green tea because I like drinking water, and warm things. And tea, pretty much warm water with secret ingredients that I do not know about.
I do not eat a breakfast on sundays. I hold off eating as long as I possibly can. I am not some sort of faster guy or something, but I figure, just let whatever is in there, let that clear out. Maybe start fresh. My meal when I do eat, is a can of fish, and a giant bowl of salad with an oil based dressing. With a schnort of red wine vinegar.
I do not turn on the TV for as long as I can. But, I live in Wisconsin, and the Packers exist. Watch a little football, so I can have an anecdote just in case it comes up.
I read this book.
I have been reading it like a lot of people read a Bible. Gone through three versions, because they wear out.
I do my neti pot.
I do some prolonged stretching.
Musically, I only listen to music without human voices. Primarily jazz or classical. I do not listen to podcasts, or audio books.
I feel like, now that I think about it, I actively endeavor to clear my head on sundays. And I have built a sort of practice around it.
